Effective July 2026: The Histology Core's rates will be increasing due to increasing supply costs and an update of our operating cost model. We have made every effort to keep prices low for our researchers. If you have concerns, please email Julia Hart (JRP128@pitt.edu) for a consultation for the most cost-effective approach to an upcoming project. We are also able to provide quotes.
The McGowan Institute Histology Core Laboratory provides comprehensive histology services, which is an essential tool in the development of tissue engineering and cellular therapies and allows for timely and detailed interpretation of in vitro and in vivo experimental results. The core offers full histology services including tissue processing and embedding, sectioning, staining, and immunohistochemistry. Located at Bridgeside Point II in the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, the lab also offers special stains and antibody protocol development. Services can be customized to fit the needs of any research program. Contact the core for specialized projects, stains, or requests.
