The Organoid Research Core (ORC) has over 150 unique patient-derived organoids (PDOs) developed from both normal and breast cancer tissue. The OCR partners with the Center for Integrative Organ Systems (cenIOS) to distribute kidney organoids derived from human iPSCs. Organoids are 3D models that recapitulate the functional, structural, and biological complexity of an organ or tissue. Organoids are a powerful tool in personalized medicine applications, such as drug screening and disease modeling. Services of the ORC include access to organoids, performing compound screening assays, and providing long-term storage of organoids. Experienced staff also provide high-quality training in organoid development and culture, and consultation services to assist with experimental design, execution, and data analysis.
