The Health Sciences Sequencing Core (HSSC) is located on the 8th floor of the Rangos Research Building as part of the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Our facility offers next generation sequencing and spatial transcriptomics services to all University of Pittsburgh researchers. The HSSC operates two Illumina NextSeq 2000 instruments with Illumina DRAGEN servers that can generate up to 500Gb of sequence data per flow cell, and one MiSeq instrument for targeted resequencing, small genome, metagenomic and microbiome studies. For sample QC, our core utilizes a Fragment Analyzer (Agilent), Qubit Fluorometers (Invitrogen) and a TapeStation (Agilent). For spatial transcriptomics services, we offer end-to-end support for 10x Visium and 10x Xenium workflows. We operate two 10x Genomics CytAssist for Visium and Visium HD workflows, and one 10x Genomics Xenium Analyzer for running in situ Xenium workflows.
