Mission: Deliver high-quality and safe translation of cutting-edge scientific breakthroughs into CGT therapies for improving human health.
The Immunologic Monitoring and Cellular Products Laboratory (IMCPL) is a FACT-accredited, FDA-registered GMP core facility supporting cell and gene therapy (CGT) research from early development through clinical translation. With 9 GMP clean rooms at the Riviera building in the Pittsburgh Technology Center, IMCPL partners with investigators on Phase 1–3 clinical programs for cancer, autoimmune, and rare diseases, while also providing immunologic monitoring services for clinical trials. IMCPL functions as an industry-style development partner, offering end‑to‑end expertise in CGT product development and clinical manufacturing. Services include process development and scale‑up, GMP manufacturing, quality assurance and quality control, and generation of Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) documentation for IND submissions. Manufacturing capabilities include CAR‑T, TCR‑engineered cells, dendritic cell vaccines, gamma delta T cells, tumor‑infiltrating lymphocytes, and gene therapy, with integrated QC testing for identity, potency, safety, stability, and immunomonitoring. IMCPL supports investigators from proof‑of‑concept through delivery of clinical‑ready therapies.
For more information about cell and gene therapy, ongoing clinical research and additional resources, visit the IMCPL website or email IMCPL@pitt.edu for consultations.
